Some highlights on to the bigger picture as endorsed supported by the stanbic bank Botswana leadership at the highest leve of CEO in collaboration with our startup program;

  1. The tech start-up ecosystem in Botswana is nascent and emerging.

2. The (IDEs) innovation driven enterprises and (SAAS-Software-as-a-Service and digital technology-enabled businesses) facilitated with corporate venture capital funding could unlock pillars for entrepreneurship development and address the unemployment challenge in Botswana.

3.It is very important that there be a platform in Botswana to guide the various sources of finance available to entrepreneurs: Beyond basic bootstrapping, there should be corporate ventures, angel investors, crowdfunding platforms, accelerators, VCs, banks, public grants, co-investment funds, business plan competitions, technology transfer offices, family offices, private equity investors and stock exchanges in Botswana.

4. The program is built on a framework to strengthen the ecosystem framework for digital startups and seed stage ventures as a way of addressing the mentoring and investment gap identified as part of accelerating the development of digital products and startups ecosystem in Botswana

5. The 3x3x3 Scale Up Residency © by NGWANA AFRICA has clear outputs ;

a. Stimulating a range of support mechanisms for early-stage entrepreneurs, including incubators, angel investor networks, training programs and corporate accelerator programs.
b. Innovation Showcase that addresses AgriTech, FinTech, CleanTech and EdTech.
c. Corporate Venture Capital & Angel Investor Networks fast execution framework in writing cheques to startups
d. Success stories for startups as a measure of performance of ventures, value investing, scalability and follow-on investment gap
